Past Wildlife West Music Festivals

Music festivals have been a part of Wildlife West's contribution for years. In 2008, we consolidated our two summer bluegrass festivals into one big music festivals, with outstanding results. The tabs below highlight a few of our more recent events.

2010 Wildlife West Music Festival.

This year's event included the return of Grammy Award nominee Claire Lynch, who was with us for the 2007 Wildlife West Music Festival. Grammy-winning acoustic guitarist Pat Donohue provided a delightful combination of wit, song, and instrumentals. Spring Creek, the award-winning Colorado bluegrass band, also joined us for the weekend. Chicago-based duo Small Potatoes gave us a repertoire of folk tunes that will not soon be forgotten. Click on any of the images below to start a slide show showing just a few of the weekend's memorable moments!

2009 Festival

Our 2009 Music Festival was a great success! Internationally known folk musician John McCutcheon delighted the audience with songs, stories, and instrumentals. With over 30 albums to his credit and the ability to play about a dozen instruments, John McCutcheon’s performances are an uncommon treat among musical experiences.  His songs tell stories of American life with a rare insight, and his instrumentals are often unparalleled in both skill and the enjoyment they bring to the listener.  The Badly Bent - an award winning bluegrass band from Durango, Colorado  performed music that, as phrased on the band’s web site, “never strays far from the roots established by the fathers of the genre.” Dave Firestine and Round The House - another award-winning band, but this time from Tucson, Arizona - regaled us with “authentic Irish music, with a twist of Tucson.” Also returning were The Squash Blossom Boys, a local band that should be remembered by last year’s attendees.

After this year's success, we're already planning for next year's show; updates will be posted as information becomes available! Click on any of the images below to start a slideshow.

2008 Festival

Thanks to our community, which came through for us after the Town of Edgewood unexpectedly pulled its financial support for the event, our 2008 Music Festival was a grand success. The headliners for our 2008 Music Festival included the Byron Berline Band and April Verch. Other bands included the Boulder Acoustic Society, the Trillium Marimba Ensemble, Jubalation, the Adobe Brothers, Next Chapter, The Muddy River String Band, Eric Carlson & Mystery Ship, Cross Country, and Holy Water & Whiskey. Check out our slide show highlighting some of the performers from our 2008 event.

We surpassed record attendance with our August festival, and are already planning ahead for next season - and of course, there's more bluegrass at the Fall Harvest Festival!
